Blow molding process is a common plastic product production process, with extrusion, injection molding as a wide range of applications, can produce rich products
Blow Molding Process
Blow molding will extrude the molten thermoplastic raw material from the extruder, add it to the mold, and then by blowing air into the raw material, the melted raw material expands under the action of air, fits to the mold cavity wall, and then cools and solidifies into the desired product shape.
Blow molding process can be divided into film blow molding and hollow blow molding.
Film blow molding: the molten plastic is extruded from the circular gap of the extruder head mouth die in a cylindrical thin tube, while the compressed air is blown into the thin tube cavity from the center hole of the head, the thin tube is blown into a larger diameter tubular film, and then rolled up after cooling.
Hollow blow molding: With the help of gas pressure, the rubber type blank closed in the mold cavity is blown into a secondary molding technology of hollow products, is the production of hollow plastic products. The manufacturing methods of hollow blow molding are different, including extrusion blow molding, injection blow molding and stretch blow molding.
Advantages of Blow Molding
The wall thickness of the blow molding product is uniform, the generated waste corners are small, and the weight difference is small, so it is more suitable for mass production of small blow molding products, and it is also suitable for the production of large-capacity blow molding barrels.
Application of Blow Molding
Film blow molding is mainly used to manufacture plastic thin molds; Hollow blow molding is mainly used to make hollow plastic products bottles, packaging barrels, watering cans, fuel tanks, cans, toys and so on.
