Friends in the injection mold processing industry should all know that a variety of additives will be added to the original plastic to produce products that meet performance requirements, such as antibacterial agents, toughening agents, anti-ultraviolet agents and other additives. However, most additives slowly settle over time, often referred to as plastic settling. There are many forms of sediment, some can be simply reflected in the production process, and some will slowly precipitate after the product is placed for a certain period of time, especially in the production of flame-retardant ABS high-gloss materials.
After a period of production, you will find that there is a layer of mist on the surface of the mold. If it is not treated for a long time, the surface of the product will become foggy or shiny. The usual way is to use abrasive paste to polish, but every surface polishing will wear the mold, increase the thickness of the product, and cause certain risks to the long-term use of the injection mold. Re-sunning a mold with a matte texture takes a lot of time and delays production.
There are mature mold cleaning agents on the market, which can effectively clean the "gas" on the surface of the mold, and the black and yellow traces formed after the gas is trapped. After soaking the contaminated area for 10-20 seconds, they can be gently wiped down with a simple spray. Compared with the use of abrasive paste, the cleaning agent itself does not contain particles, will not cause secondary damage to the mold, and can save time for polishing and mold injection drying.
You can find special cleaners for cleaning gases, stubborn dirt cleaners and more.
