What are the maintenance methods of blow molds?

Author: MULAN -Plastic Molding Manufacturer

The cavity of the blow molded transparent container needs to be highly polished, and it needs to be polished every once in a while during the production process. Use polishing agent and soft tissue paper to polish the mold cavity, rub hard to make a small amount of polishing agent enter the surface of the mold cavity, and then use clean tissue paper to polish until the mold cavity has a mirror surface. When polishing, the tissue paper should be replaced frequently to avoid scratching the cavity. After the edge of the clamp blank of the plastic shrinkage mold is worn, it should be corrected by a skilled mold maker. The shear block on the neck of the blow mold and the shear sleeve on the intake rod are key parts, and must be replaced in time to keep them in good condition. For example, after the cutting edge of the cutting block is worn unevenly, the neck of the formed container will leak when it is in use. When the cooling channel of the blow molding mold is blocked or corroded and affects the flow of the cooling medium, it should be cleaned immediately. The guide post and guide sleeve of the blow molding mold should be lubricated regularly, and replaced at least once every year of operation to ensure the alignment of the two halves of the mold and improve the life of the mold. Whenever the production is stopped or the blow molding mold needs to be stocked, the cooling channel of the mold must be blown clean with compressed air, and the mold cavity must be coated with a protective agent to prevent corrosion and wait for the next blow molding process.
